Manuel Lanzini is all set to join the childhood club as per the confirmations of the club’s president

Manuel Lanzini is on the verge of making a remarkable return to his boyhood club, River Plate via this summer’s transfer window. The player’s return to the club has been confirmed by the club’s president, Jorge Brito as well. The negotiations with regard to the player’s transfer were taking place over the past few days. The player who lately achieved incredible by winning the conference league with West Ham is nearing an exit from the club in order to initiate a move to the Argentinian club, River Plate for the upcoming season.

Manuel Lanzini to join River Plate after a 10-year gap

Fabrizio Romano via his official revelation let everyone know that Lanzini has agreed to a move to River Plate in this transfer window. The player himself confirmed his return to his boyhood club as he spoke to ESPN Argentina. The player shall be arriving at Buenos Aires in the next few days as stated by several sources recently. 30-year-old Lanzini began his senior career with the Argentina club in the 2010/11 season. He also spent a considerable part of his starting couple of years at senior level at Fluminese on loan.

After spending the 2014/15 season at Al Jazira, Lanzini made a loaned move to West Ham the following season which was later made permanent. During his 7 year stay at the club, Lanzini made 226 appearances scoring 32 goals in total. He also was a part of the West Ham side that lifted the UEFA Conference league last season.

River Plate’s current form has been absolutely sensational as they topped the league’s first phase with 61 points in 27 matches including 14 wins. The team was the Argentinian champion this year and this will be eager to continue its fine run in the times to come as well.
