Manchester United has activated the £42.2 million release clause in Kim Min-jae’s contract

According to Corriero dello Sport, Manchester United has activated the £42.2 million release clause in Kim Min-jae’s contract. He is a transfer target for both Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur.

Jose Mourinho infamously sought to acquire the Napoli defender for Spurs, and he was recently linked with moves to Jurgen Klopp’s and Antonio Conte’s teams.

Despite interest from Liverpool and Tottenham, it seems that Manchester United will sign Kim Min-jae this summer at Old Trafford.

Danny Murphy estimated that the 26-year-old would want a staggering £100 million from any bidder, but it now seems that he may be had for somewhat less than that.

Corriero dello Sport reports that Manchester United intends to sign Kim Min-jae by activating his release clause and paying just £42.2 million for him, leaving Liverpool and Tottenham in the dust.

Although it has been stated that the provision is only active for 15 days, whether the player, who has been characterized as “Napoli’s rock” by Serie A expert Matteo Bonetti through Korea Joong Daily, would really activate it remains unclear (1st July-15th July).

If Manchester United, Liverpool, and Tottenham teams were to compete with one another to sign Kim Min-jae from Napoli, United would be the obvious favourites.

United’s project seems to be the most intriguing, while their English competitors’ continues to decline, and the probable departure is largely dependent on which club pays the release clause. If Ten Hag chooses to leave Naples, he will have led his team to a near-certain top-four finish, a possible late run in the Europa League as they appear dead set to defeat Barcelona, and a probable triumph in the Carabao Cup against Newcastle.
