Manchester City Transfer News: Manchester City and Arsenal want Ansu Fati
Manchester City Transfer News: Manchester City have reportedly joined the chase for Ansu Fati’s signing, as reported by Football Insider. The future of the 20-year-old Barcelona sensation has been up in the air recently, and other top clubs in Europe are monitoring his situation closely.
Fati has flourished since joining Barcelona’s prestigious La Masia youth program at the tender age of 10. But he’s unhappy since he hasn’t gotten any playing time this season. His own father has gone on record as saying he would rather see him playing for another club than sitting on the bench.
Fati has been playing for the Catalan giants since 2019 when he broke into the main squad. His senior career got off to a decent start, but as of late, he has been struggling.
The Spanish international has been sidelined by injuries this season, falling behind Xavi in the pecking order. Just once in this current campaign has Fati played the whole game.
Throughout his 38 games, he has played for slightly over 1300 minutes. The twenty-year-old’s current deal is set to expire in the summer of 2027. Moreover, an additional two years may be added if desired. His father has hinted, though, that his son may leave over the summer.
Yet, Arsenal is one of many teams interested in signing the 20-year-old. The Gunners have been outstanding so far this season. They are presently in first place and will most likely qualify for the Champions League next season.
Manchester City Transfer News: Despite interest from Arsenal, Manchester City has entered the bidding to capture Ansu Fati, a 20-year-old star for Barcelona
Before the start of the next season, Mikel Arteta would want to further fortify his offence. He has decided that the Club has to bring in a new winger in order to increase their offensive output, and he has his eye on Fati. Arsenal’s planned move for Fati has been complicated by Manchester City’s entry into the bidding.
City has enough wingers to choose from, but they are still actively recruiting. The addition of Fati will strengthen their assault, even if they do not need a new winger. He’ll also be a natural in Pep Guardiola’s system.
The 20-year-old may be having a rough season so far, but he still has plenty of time and potential to turn things around. It will be exciting to watch which Premier League powerhouse succeeds in their pursuit of the Barcelona star in the summer market.
