Manchester City is interested in signing Serge Gnabry from Bayern Munich

Premier League winners Manchester City reportedly want to buy the 27-year-old during the next summer transfer window, according to a report from Fichajes.

While he is under contract with the Bundesliga winners until the summer of 2026, the German international has not been a regular starter for them and may be open to leaving the club amid transfer rumours at the conclusion of the season.

Gnabry has contributed greatly to Bayern Munich this season, as he has scored 12 goals and added 11 assists in all competitions. It remains to be seen whether Manchester City and the Bundesliga heavyweights can reach an agreement for his services, given he has been instrumental in their recent trophy haul.

Previously, he suited up for both Arsenal and West Bromwich Albion in England. If the move goes through, he’ll be eager to prove himself in the Premier League next year. The German international is versatile enough to play any of the three forward positions, which is great news for Manchester City.

It’s possible that Gnabry would be a great replacement for Jack Grealish in Manchester City’s front three. The former Aston Villa star’s play has dipped since his club-record transfer to Manchester City, therefore the Premier League heavyweights should try to add more scoring punch elsewhere.

Pep Guardiola’s offence will benefit greatly from Gnabry’s speed, style, goals, and originality. As he is already familiar with the Spaniard’s style of play, he should be able to quickly adjust to his new surroundings at Manchester City. Guardiola had high praise for the German forward he coached at Bayern Munich.

The move seems rational for everybody involved, but whether the two teams can reach a deal quickly is uncertain. Bayern Munich will need to be realistic with their demands if they want to get him away to Manchester City, who are hesitant to pay over the odds for his talents.
