Liverpool has to pay £75 million to sign Moises Caicedo from Brighton and Hove Albion
According to CBS reporter Ben Jacobs, Brighton & Hove Albion want more than £75 million to sell Moises Caicedo to Liverpool in the January transfer window.
According to The Athletic, the Reds don’t have the money to sign the World Cup MVP this month. Thus, it seems unrealistic for Liverpool to pay £75 million or more to recruit Caicedo from Brighton.
Because the Reds’ midfield has been so weak all season, this is a concerning development. The club’s midfielders, except for Thiago, seem to be either beyond their prime or have yet to reach their full potential, as was seen in their recent 3-0 thrashing at the hands of Roberto De Zerbi’s side.
Brighton seems to be cognizant of the fact that a transfer cost in excess of £75 million would not only reflect the great value they have on Moises Caicedo, but also the significant coup he would represent for Liverpool.
This is a major setback for Jurgen Klopp’s team as they continue to struggle in the current season. Until January, BRIGHTON would not even consider selling Liverpool target Moises Caicedo for a fee of £75 million or more.
To get the services of the Ecuadorian prodigy, Chelsea are reportedly prepared to spend more than £65 million, as reported by CBS’s Ben Jacobs. Plus, Graham Potter’s squad is “seriously studying” the possibility of signing the 21-year-old.
While Liverpool seems to be in the hunt for Moises Caicedo, Brighton’s demand that they possibly spend more than they paid to buy Virgil van Dijk at over £75 million could provide a financial problem.
When considering Chelsea’s willingness to spend, it remains to be seen how seriously the Reds intend to pursue the much sought-after midfielder.
