Lionel Messi Transfer News: Lionel Messi has agreed to play for Saudi Arabian club Al Hilal

Lionel Messi Transfer News: If rumours are to be believed, next season’s Saudi Arabian Premier League will include a rematch of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo’s heated rivalry. The Argentine genius is said to be considering a move to the Middle East, much like his everlasting opponent.

As his contract with Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) comes to an end, Spanish site El Chiringuito TV (via Express) claims that Lionel Messi has agreed to play for Saudi Arabian club Al Hilal.

The playmaker will reportedly get one of the most expensive contracts in sports history from the Middle Eastern club, with a yearly salary of £262 million.

Apparently, Al Hilal is dead set on signing the Argentine and will stop at nothing to make it happen. They are said to be orchestrating a move for him, Sergio Busquets, and Jordi Alba from Barcelona to Riyadh.

As far as anybody can tell, Lionel Messi’s time in Paris is over. The Argentine is willing to leave the French club this summer and has already rejected many offers, making Al Hilal the frontrunner to sign him.

Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo’s rivalry might heat up again if the Argentine forward signs with the Saudi Arabian team. After a contentious interview with British journalist Piers Morgan, the Portuguese legend eventually decided to join Al Nassr during the winter transfer window.

Since signing with the Saudi Arabian team, Cristiano Ronaldo’s play has been nothing short of spectacular. He has played 15 times for the team in all competitions, scoring 12 times and assisting twice. It would be exciting to watch these two teams face off in the next Saudi Premier League season.
