Leandro Paredes makes a move to Italian club following PSG exit

PSG player Leandro Paredes has signed for a Serie A club via this summer’s transfer window. The negotiations with respect to the player’s move were taking place over the past few days. Despite there being offers from several other clubs, Paredes’ final destination seems to be all set to none other than Italian club, AS Roma. The player’s transfer to the Mourinho coached team is a done deal as per the confirmations of several sources.

Leandro Paredes to join Roma on a permanent deal

Fabrizio Romano via his official revelation let everyone know that Leandro Paredes’ transfer to Roma is a done deal. A deal for a fee in excess of £4m to Paris Saint Germain has been agreed already. The two clubs have reached final agreement lately and Paredes shall be traveling to Italy soon. The contract will be valid until 2025 with the option of extension until 2026.

Leandro Paredes who was born in 1994 began his senior career with Argentine club, Boca juniors in the 2010/11 at the age of 17. He played four years for the team making 31 appearances and scoring 5 goals. With the end of his stint in Argentina, he spent the following three years on loan at Chievo, Empoli and Roma respectively. He made a permanent move to Roma in the 2016/17 season, only to leave the club for Zenit the following year.

In 2018, he joined Ligue 1 side PSG, a club wherein he stayed for the upcoming 5 years. He played for the team in 117 matches scoring 3 goals in the meantime. His was loaned to Juventus via the winter transfer window midway between the 2022/23 season, wherein he played 35 games.

Roma have been in fairly good rhythm lately. The team finished 6th in the league last season ensuring a place in the upcoming season’s Europa League. The team has been doing a fairly good job under Jose Mourinho in the recent past. The team made it to the finals of the Europa League last season before missing out on the title following a loss to Sevilla in the final match.

The team’s major motto will be to perform better in the Europa League and make significant improvements in the League season hereon. The onus will be on the club’s new signings including Leandro Paredes to help the side achieve its objectives in the upcoming times.
