Kyle Walker Transfer News: Despite Aston Villa’s interest, Kyle Walker has no plans to leave Manchester City

Kyle Walker Transfer News: The Daily Star reports that Kyle Walker, despite interest from many teams, including Aston Villa, wants to remain with Manchester City. The 32-year-old may no longer be Pep Guardiola’s first-choice player. But he is prepared to defend his position.

Walker moved to City from Tottenham Hotspur in the summer of 2017. After joining Guardiola’s squad, the 32-year-old’s performance skyrocketed. He quickly learned his way around their system and contributed to their many championship victories.

However, recent events have not been particularly positive. The Englishman has fallen out of favour with Guardiola and is no longer a lock to start every game. The manager of Manchester City favours an adaptable and mobile defence. As a consequence, Walker has missed several games thus far this season.

But the citizens still greatly benefit from having him on their side. The veteran, who earns £150,000 per week, has appeared in 28 games this season and contributed an assist. This club has committed to the 32-year-old until the summer of 2024. Numerous clubs in Europe were interested in signing him, even though he still had over a year left on his contract.

The Aston Villa manager wants to sign the City defender. Since taking over as manager of the English club, Emery has done incredible things. He’s turned them into a winning machine and is now looking to strengthen his squad with a new defensive player for the next season.

The fullback from Manchester City was a target for Villa. The player, though, has no plans to leave Manchester City this summer. He’s not afraid to go to battle for the top rank. And Walker is prepared to see out the last months of his Etihad deal.

Even if teams are prepared to pay his asking price of £25 million this summer, not many of them will be willing to match his £150,000 weekly income. The 32-year-old is expected to play out the last year of his contract with the club, making a free agent signing in the summer of 2024 the preferable option.
