Japanese governor forced to resign after meeting Cristiano Ronaldo

Cristiano Ronaldo is often regarded as the world’s most important footballer. His clout and ‘aura’ have pushed Japanese governor Kengo Oishi to face terrible repercussions once news about the Japanese surfaced. It is believed that the Governor abandoned official duty in July 2023 to attend a game in which the Portuguese superstar appeared.
PSG and Al-Nassr drew 0-0 at Nagai Stadium in Osaka, with Cristiano Ronaldo and other PSG players on the pitch. According to recent rumors, Oishi opted not to attend a governors’ meeting to assure his attendance at the game above. The governor claims he did so to request that Ronaldo promote Nagasaki.
According to a media story, Oishi wanted Ronaldo to ‘give a helping hand to the PR of Nagasaki Prefecture’. The governor’s account paid for the preseason-friendly ticket, while government funding covered expenditures such as travel and lodging. While many have called for the governor’s resignation, others believe he performed professionally.
