Italian journalist berates Victor Osimhen for being rude towards Napoli
Victor Osimhen has undoubtedly been one of the most impactful players for his club in the recent past. The player has been in absolutely brilliant form on the pitch which has helped his side to a massive extent in terms of achieving their objectives lately. The player helped the club win its first league title since 1990. He was his team’s top scorer throughout all the competitions.
Thanks to his brilliance,Napoli also made it to the Quarter finals of the UCL for the first time in their history. A recent happening on the internet with regard to the player has taken everyone by surprise including the player himself. Following the uncertain set of events that took place, Osimhen is now seeking legal action against his club as confirmed by the player’s agent.
Marika Fruscio urges Osimhen to be a “Professional”
It all began with Osimhen missing a crucial penalty kick in Napoli’s recent league match against Bologna. The striker misplaced his effort sending the ball wide of target as the match ended in a goalless draw. Following this incident, Napoli’s official tik tok account posted a troll video of Osimhen missing the penalty.
Another video posted by the account shows Osimhen being referred to as a coconut. Osimhen’s immediate reaction to the incident was that of anger and annoyance. It was clear from the fact that he didn’t bother to greet his teammates before arriving at the training for the next game and just shook hands with the manager.
Italian journalist Marika Fruscio had her say over the entire situation. She felt that Osimhen’s annoyance was pretty much obvious, but the Nigerian should still try and be a professional, put his head down and focus solely on his job.
“You’re a champion but it takes humility. What’s the use of deleting the photos of the team that worshiped and supported you. What’s the point of flirting like this?? Even legal action for a sarcastic video? An intelligent man would have laughed at it. BE THE PROFESSIONAL. HEAD DOWN AND WORK” said Marika.
“It’s our fault anyway that we make these players almost gods…. JUST THE SHIRT, JUST THE SHIRT”, she added.
Victor Osimhen however didn’t let these set of incidents off the pitch affect his performance in the game as he scored a fine goal in the upcoming match vs Udinese. Napoli registered a fine 4-1 win and are now placed 6th in the table with 11 points in 6 games. Osimhen has been in fine form so far this season too as he’s scored 4 goals in 7 appearances. It remains to be seen as to whether he is able to carry on his fine form in the upcoming times too or not.
