Is Marco Asensio Renewing His Contract At Real Madrid?

Midfielder Marco Asensio allegedly turned down a new contract offer from Real Madrid because he wanted more money.

Asensio, 27, has yet to agree to terms on a new agreement, and according to El Nacional, the major obstacle is the financial component of the deal. The Spanish striker wants an annual salary of €6 million. Florentino Perez, president of Los Blancos, has offered him €4.8 million annually, which is a significant increase from his present salary of €4.5 million.

In 48 appearances in all competitions this season, Asensio has been outstanding. He has scored 12 goals and added eight assists. Real Madrid is reportedly interested in re-signing the Spanish forward because of his stellar play. His current deal is set to expire after the current season concludes.

The dynamic forward has requested that his agent, Jorge Mendes, cease talks with other teams and instead focus on keeping him at the Santiago Bernabeu. Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, and AC Milan are just a few of such teams.

Real Madrid, on the other hand, has their sights set on Vinicius Junior, whose current deal is set to expire in 2024. With 23 goals and 21 assists in 53 appearances in all competitions, the Brazilian forward has been Los Merengues’ main man this season.

For the time being, Asensio will sit tight and hope that Madrid’s contract offer improves. During his tenure at the Bernabeu, he has won three Champions Leagues and three La Liga championships.

Carlo Ancelotti, manager of Real Madrid, allegedly recommended that the club acquire Richarlison, a forward for Tottenham. Defensa Central claims that the Los Blancos manager is the primary force behind the club’s pursuit of the Brazilian.

The 26-year-old Richarlison has struggled in his first year at Spurs, starting only three of 33 games and scoring just three goals. At the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, though, he excelled, scoring three goals in four contests.

Ancelotti managed Richarlison at Everton from 2019 to 2021, thus he is well familiar with the youngster. Under the Italian manager, the striker scored 20 goals in 59 total appearances.
