Inter Milan keens to extend Lautaro Martinez’s contract

Martinez has been one of Inter Milan’s most valuable assets since his transfer from Racing Club in 2018. He has 114 goals in his 250 appearances for the club including all competitions. The Argentine striker captains the Serie A side. Martínez officially joined Inter on 4 July 2018 for a reported fee of €22.7 million and he signed a five-year contract with the club.

Martinez began his 2023/24 season by scoring both goals in a 2-0 win over Monza. In the match against Salernitana, he came in the 55th minute in the 4-0 win, becoming the only player in Serie A history to score four goals as a substitute.

Martinez started his career with Racing making 60 appearances for them scoring 27 goals. He is also doing great for the international side making 52 appearances and scoring on 21 occasions. The Italian side is looking to extend the contract of the Argentine striker as he wishes to stay with the club. Inter-CEO Marotta stated, “Lautaro is not like Skriniar. If he wants to stay, we’re also keen on a new deal and we will be on the right way together. It’s great to have a player who rejects many top clubs in order to stay where he is”.
