Fermín Lopez signs new deal with FC Barcelona

Spanish youngster – Fermín Lopez has signed a new deal with FC Barcelona recently. The negotiations with respect to the player’s new deal were taking place over the past few days. The player who has been a part of Barca right since the beginning of his senior career is all set to lengthen his period of stay at the club even further. The player’s new deal with the club has almost been completed as per the confirmations of several sources.

Fermín Lopez extends his stay at Barcelona

Fabrizio Romano via his official revelation let everyone know about Fermín Lopez’s having signed a new contract with his club – Barcelona. The player’s picture with Joan Laporta while signing the contract was made official yesterday. A four year deal had been sealed several weeks ago. The release clause will be that of €400m.

Fermín Lopez who was born in 2003 began his senior career with Spanish club – FC Barcelona in 2022 when he made it into the club’s B team for the first time. He however didn’t get to play any match for the side and was loaned out to Linares wherein he got to play 40 games throughout the season scoring 12 goals. He finally got to make his debut for Barcelona B in the 2023/24 season recently.

The player eventually made his first team debut for Barcelona in August. The twenty-year-old has played a total of 8 matches for the club so far scoring 2 goals across all competitions. His most recent goal came in the UCL group stage match against Shakhtar Donetsk. Barcelona has been in wonderful form lately. The team won the league title last season. With 88 points in 38 matches throughout the season, the team finished at the top of the table – 10 points clear of second placed Real Madrid. The team’s next major motto will be to perform better in the ongoing league season and deliver impactful performances in the upcoming season’s Champions league. The onus will be on the team’s youngsters including Fermin Lopez to help the side achieve its objectives hereon.
