Chelsea wants to sign the €120 million Super star in the January Transfer window
Enzo Fernandez, a midfielder for Argentina, had a fantastic 2022 FIFA World Cup. To add to that, Fabrizio Romano of Caught Offside claims that Chelsea has had extensive talks with the 21-year-old Benfica player.
The 21-year-old midfielder wants to go to Stamford Bridge with the Blues, and reports indicate that the transfer would cost the club €120 million. Chelsea, though, is attempting to restructure the payments, and it would be intriguing to see whether Benfica is willing to accept their offer.
In spite of rumours linking the 21-year-old World Cup champion to a transfer to Anfield, Fabrizio Romano maintains that Liverpool is not prepared to pay the asking fee.
Enzo Fernandez is a promising young midfielder who is widely regarded as a future superstar in Europe. It would be a club-record move for Chelsea if they were able to sign the 21-year-old in the coming weeks.
With Jorginho and N’Golo Kante both in the last year of their contracts, it’s no surprise that Chelsea is willing to spend large money on its midfield. Since they will both be available to sign with other teams as free agents this summer, Chelsea will have to find suitable replacements.
There have been rumours that the Blues are interested in players like Jude Bellingham and Declan Rice. It will be intriguing to watch whether, after signing Fernandez, they try to make a bid for any of those players. It’s safe to say that neither Rice nor Bellingham will be making a move this month. This means Chelsea will have to wait until the next summer transfer season to make a move.
Todd Boehly is motivated to strengthen his team so that they can fight for the Premier League championship shortly. The Chelsea co-owner made significant investments in the team during the summer transfer window, and the Blues want to do the same in January.
To complement the addition of Enzo Fernandez, Chelsea is anticipated to bring in Benoit Badiashile from AS Monaco as a defender. Andrey Santos, a promising young Brazilian player, has also signed with the Blues. After a slow start to the season, Chelsea is battling for a Champions League spot, and it will be intriguing to watch whether they make the cut for the Champions League.
