Chelsea might sell Conor Gallagher against the will of the midfielder in the last two days of the January transfer window
According to Craig Hope of The Daily Mail on Twitter, Chelsea might sell Conor Gallagher against the will of the midfielder in the last two days of the January transfer window, with both Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United and Sean Dyche’s Everton keen in acquiring the player. This rumour claims that Everton has offered Chelsea £45 million to transfer Gallagher to the club.
The 22-year-old midfielder has represented England at the international level, but he wants to remain at Chelsea. However, it has been suggested that the former Premier League and UEFA Champions League champions may fire Gallagher.
Hope claims that if this scenario materialized, Gallagher would choose Newcastle over Everton, despite the Magpies having to match Everton’s proposal.
We think it will be interesting to see what happens with Chelsea and Conor Gallagher on January transfer deadline day, given the interest from Everton and Newcastle United.
Now, it’s obvious that Everton wants to sign the 22-year-old, but it’s easy to understand why the teenager might choose Newcastle over the Toffees.
The team from Liverpool may be demoted to the lower division at the conclusion of the current campaign.
However, if Newcastle can finish in the top four of the Premier League this season, they will qualify for next year’s UEFA Champions League.
