Chelsea and Manchester City, both want to sign the £85 million rated defender
According to reports, Chelsea and Manchester City are both interested in signing RB Leipzig defender Josko Gvardiol, who is valued at £85 million.
As a result of his success with his club and national teams, Gvardiol is a highly sought-after player. The Daily Mail has stated that the Cityzens are planning a summer transfer for the Croatian international.
The fates of three outstanding players, according to the source, give Pep Guardiola cause for worry ahead of the summer transfer window. It has been speculated that Ilkay Gundogan, the team captain, Bernardo Silva, and Aymeric Laporte would all leave the Etihad this summer.
If Laporte requests a transfer, the report suggests Manchester City will not stand in his way. The Sky Blues have a possible alternative in Gvardiol in case the Spain international decides to go. The Croat can play either centre-back or left-back and is widely regarded as one of the best young defenders in the world.
RB Leipzig has placed a price tag of £85 million on the 21-year-old, and it has been reported that the Bundesliga club is trying to sell players to satisfy Financial Fair Play laws. Last summer, there were rumours that Chelsea wanted to bring Guardiola to Stamford Bridge. The 2020 RB Leipzig transfer pick was a Dinamo Zagreb academy product who was coveted by Chelsea and Manchester City.
