Cesc Fabregas gives his thoughts on what Chelsea has to accomplish to win the Premier League next year

Cesc Fabregas thinks that with the proper manager at the helm, Chelsea can turn things around for the next season. The midfielder reflected on his experience with the club in a similar position in 2015, when they eventually won the championship the following season under Antonio Conte.

He said: “Six years ago we had a really bad season with Chèlsea. Jose Mourinho left, Guus Hiddink came. He started to play younger players; Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Andreas Christensen, Tammy Abraham to give them experience for next year. I remember in April, they signed Antonio Conte.”

He added: “He came to the training ground and talked to each of us personally. He then planned what he wanted to do with us to start over, and we beat Guardiola, Klopp, and Mourinho to win the Premier League. That can happen. I went through this six years ago. If you hire a person with knowledge, good character, clear ideas, and a willingness to work hard.”

The Blues are struggling so much this season that they are now 12th in the Premier League. They have been eliminated from every cup tournament and will not be participating in any European events next year.

Fabregas said things weren’t as bad as they seemed for the Blues on Sky Sports. He thinks the group is good enough that the proper manager can rapidly turn things around.

According to reports, Mauricio Pochettino is in negotiations to become the next manager of the Blues.

Frank Lampard, Chelsea’s caretaker manager, is convinced that his team can still win its remaining five matches under his leadership.

Chelsea still has a chance of being drawn into a relegation struggle, so they’ll want to win a few more games to keep themselves out of trouble.
