Breaking: PSG and their Star-Studded Transfer Wishlist Includes Unexpected Addition from Tottenham!

According to reports, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) is eyeing Pierre-Emile Hojberg, a midfielder for Tottenham Hotspur, to play with Kylian Mbappe next season.

The French club has reportedly compiled a recruitment wishlist in order to surround Mbappe with a Champions League-winning squad. Hojberg, 27, joins the likes of Ousmane Dembele, Randal Kolo-Muani, and Bernardo Silva on the list as an unexpected addition.

Despite Tottenham’s lacklustre season, Hojberg has been in outstanding form for the team. The Dane has started 44 times in all competitions and has contributed seven goals and four assists.

Transfermarkt estimates the former Bayern Munich midfielder to be worth €45 million with two years remaining on his contract. With Hojberg, the midfield for Parc des Princes manager Christophe Galtier would be stronger. The signing of Fabian Ruiz last summer was fruitless.

Kylian Mbappe will be familiar with Hojberg’s abilities after facing him while representing France internationally. He is a strong worker at the defensive midfield position.

Hojberg is a crucial cog for Tottenham, therefore, they will do anything they can to retain him. The Dane, though, may find the opportunity to play Champions League games for PSG to be too tempting to pass up.

In 2020, the Spurs paid Southampton €16.6 million to acquire Hojberg from the Saints. He also spent time with FC Schalke and FC Augsburg in the Bundesliga.

In May 2022, Kylian Mbappé re-signed with PSG for another three years. The rumours that the French player was going to sign with Real Madrid have died down.

The aforementioned article, however, claims that the new contract is for two years with a third-year extension. As a result, it is expected that Mbappe will leave in 2024 without exercising his option.

Because of this, Madrid may pursue the French striker again. If his contract expires, they may pursue him as a free agent. This season, he has been amazing, as seen by his 40 goals scored in 41 games played across all competitions.

But PSG has faltered in Europe again, bowing out in the round of 16 for the second year running. Mbappe has criticized the Parisians for overusing him in a promotional film, one of several instances of tension between the two sides this season.

The squad from Parc des Princes has designated Kylian Mbappe as the team’s main man. Since signing his new contract, though, he hasn’t been particularly happy in Paris.
