“Biggest joke in the history of football” – Jurgen Klopp comments on the title race after Man City’s loss against Aston Villa

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp believes that excluding Manchester City would be a massive mistake.

Jurgen Klopp, the manager of Liverpool, issued a strong warning to the Premier League, saying it would be their worst mistake to ‘write off’ reigning champion Manchester City. In a recent news conference, the German was asked for his response after Manchester City lost on the road to Aston Villa.

Even though City sit fourth in the league and six points behind the leaders, Jurgen Klopp believes writing them off would be the “biggest joke in football history.” He added, “If somebody writes City off, that would be the biggest joke in the history of football.’

Manchester City fell 1-0 to Aston Villa, as Arsenal (1st) and Liverpool (2nd) both won vital away games. Klopp responded instantly to inquiries about ruling out Manchester City. Furthermore, he stated that he had “no idea” whether this year’s championship would be decided “down to the wire.”

The German, on the other hand, was ready to ground himself and his crew. Klopp went on to say that every game begins at 0-0 and progresses from there. He was reluctant to dismiss any club, regardless of league status.

Pep Guardiola lost his first defeat over Unai Emery on a night when Aston Villa dominated. Take Guardiola at his word! During the post-match press conference, the Spaniard seemed unsurprised when he said: “The better team won. Villa were better than us and we struggled to make some process.”

He complimented their strong defense and well-organized framework. Guardiola, on the other hand, accepted responsibility for the team’s loss, saying it’s his job to develop a winning approach even when they’re not playing well. He emphasized the need to find a winning playing style immediately, especially with future games against Crystal Palace, Luton Town, and Brentford.
