Arsenal Transfer News: Arsenal set to spend £106 million on two signings
Arsenal Transfer News: According to reports, Arsenal is willing to pay a whopping £106 million to acquire Martin Zubimendi and Robin Le Normand from Real Sociedad during the forthcoming summer transfer window.
Calciomercato reports that Arsenal is putting together a transfer bid of £106 million to sign Zubimendi and Le Normand for the 2023-24 season. Both of these players are estimated to be worth over £53 million right now.
Over the previous two seasons, Zubimendi, at 24 years old, has emerged as a key member of Sociedad’s midfield. After making his debut in 2019, he has played in 134 games for the team he grew up supporting, scoring four goals.
Le Normand, on the other hand, has been an invaluable addition to the Los Txuri-Urdin dressing room ever since he was promoted from the B squad. The 26-year-old defender has started 170 games for his team in all competitions.

In 2020, both players were instrumental in Real Sociedad winning the Copa del Rey. Mikel Arteta, manager of Arsenal, has reportedly requested that the club make acquiring two players from Real Sociedad a top priority this summer. Le Normand is a great rotational option for players like William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes, while Nicolas Zubimendi is seen as a long-term solution to replace the injury-prone Thomas Partey.
This season, Zubimendi has played in all 35 of Sociedad’s games, contributing to the team’s cause with one goal and three assists. His contract with the club runs until June 2027 at the Anoeta Stadium. The Spanish player is also being monitored by Barcelona at the moment.
Le Normand, meantime, is under contract with Imanol Alguacil’s team until June of 2026. He has played in 34 games this season across all competitions, with his team posting 16 clean sheets.
