Antonio Conte reveals he rejected ‘HUGE’ offer from Saudi Arabia

Italian football manager Antonio Conte, who was most recently the head coach of the Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur, began his managerial career in 2006 by leading Bari to the Serie B title. The former Juventus manager achieved great success with three consecutive Serie A titles from 2011 to 2014 before taking over the Italian national side.

Antonio Conte, a high-profile name in European football, recently disclosed that he turned down a significant offer from the Saudi Arabian league, opting not to move to the Middle East. Conte has been without a managerial position since his contract with Tottenham Hotspur was terminated in March.

Conte desires to join Rome or Napoli

Conte expressed his desire to manage either Roma or Napoli, mentioning his regret at leaving Juventus after securing three consecutive titles. Although he was most recently in charge of Tottenham Hotspur, his contract was terminated earlier this year. Conte is in no rush to return to management and is waiting for the perfect opportunity.

He stated, “I’ve rejected a substantial proposal from Saudi Arabia – I decided to decline it. I regretted leaving Juventus after just three years. I would like to experience managing Roma or Napoli one day, but I typically prefer to take on a new role at the end of the season.”

There are reports suggesting that Conte is likely to join Napoli this season, especially given their struggling start under their new manager. The Italian manager hopes to return to the Italian top flight, where he has previously enjoyed success.

Throughout his managerial career, Conte has primarily managed Italian clubs, with Chelsea and Tottenham being his only European stints. Known for his use of the 3-5-2 formation, Conte’s work with Juventus earned him comparisons to the likes of Jose Mourinho, Marcello Lippi, and Arrigo Sacchi. In his second season, Conte led Inter Milan to a Serie A championship after an 11-year drought. Conte is determined to fulfill his desire to continue his career in Italy. Although Jose Mourinho is currently managing Roma, there have been reports suggesting he might leave his role before the end of the season.
