Al Nassr vs Al Raed – Match Report

Al Nassr registered a fantastic win over Al Raed in their sixth match of the Saudi Pro League 2023/24.  The Luis Castro coached side displayed some high quality performances on the pitch to outperform their opponents. Thanks to some fine execution on the pitch yet again, Al Nassr have now made it four wins in their last four league matches. Following this brilliant win, the team is now placed 5th in the table with 12 points in 6 matches so far. Al Raed on the other hand are placed 15th with just 4 points in 6 games till now.

The game began with each of the two sides looking to gain some momentum early on in the match. Al Nassr clearly looked the more comfortable side on the pitch as they dominated majorly with the ball in their possession. The side came close to opening the scoring on a number of ocassions but couldn’t finish any of the moves by narrow margins.

It was in the dying minutes of the first half that Sadio Mane gave his side the lead at last with some individual brilliance. The Senegalese recieved the ball from Sultan at the edge of the box and fired in a precise shot to find the bottom right corner.

The second half began and with it continued Al Nassr’s dominance. It was in the 55th minute that substitute player – Anderson Talisca smashed in a brilliant goal from outside of the box to double Al Nassr’s lead. The Brazilian’s left footed shot from long range found the top left corner after totally bamboozling the goalkeeper. Cristiano Ronaldo eventually had his say too as he wrapped up the game and three points for his side with a third goal in the 78th minute.

The no.7 along with Talisca did well to rush into the Al Raed box following a brilliant one-two pass. Ronaldo managed to get past his marker and thumped in a left footed shot into the left corner to make it 3-0. Al Raed managed to pull one back in the 89th minute via a penalty. Mohammed Fouzair converted his spot kick to give the home fans something to cheer about. FT:- Al Nassr 3-1 Al Raed.
