According to reports, both Manchester United and Liverpool passed on signing winger Leandro Trossard from Brighton & Hove Albion

As reported by Ben Jacobs, both Liverpool and Manchester United passed on signing Leandro Trossard, a forward for Brighton & Hove Albion who is 28 years old.

Trossard has been a shining star at the Amex Stadium for a Brighton & Hove Albion team that is fighting for a playoff spot and a place in Europe. Since Graham Potter left, Roberto De Zerbi has fit in like a glove, whereas Potter has battled to find his footing at Chelsea.

As a result of his outstanding play, Trossard was included in Belgium’s World Cup 2022 roster. However, he did not contribute much to the Red Devils’ success, as his nation was eliminated in the group stage.

Trossard’s development as a club player has continued. And now north London club Tottenham Hotspur have contacted him, asking him to transfer the player there. Despite Spurs’ interest, Brighton has rejected a transfer, preferring to keep the player for the remainder of the season.

It has been speculated that the 28-year-old will be leaving the team since he has not participated in either of the past two games. However, De Zerbi has set the record straight, saying the player’s fitness was not put at danger. According to Brighton’s manager, Trossard also has to step up his game.

Trossard has high hopes of joining a top team in the Premier League. Unfortunately, it is not likely to happen anytime soon. There are just six months left on his contract, but his agency has already approached many teams, including Liverpool and Manchester United, about signing him. Despite their need for offensive reinforcements, the two teams have turned down the opportunity. This was verified by Ben Jacobs, as well.

Jacobs said: “The first thing to say with Trossard is that he wants a move away, no specific preference and his agent has been working extremely hard to fuel interest. He went to Tottenham, he went to Chelsea, he went to Liverpool, he went to Manchester United and he went to Newcastle United.”

Jacobs continued, “Liverpool and Manchester United dismissed it, even as I understand it got a little bit irritated by how much on the agent’s side was being leaked about interest in his client.” Trossard is the kind of player who belongs in the best leagues. How soon he will be able to join that group is an open question. Both Liverpool and Manchester United have reportedly passed on signing the Belgian national team player.
