AC Milan is interested in selling Charles De Ketelaere to Newcastle this summer for a cost of about £26 million

Due to his lacklustre performance since joining the Serie A champion from Club Brugge, Italian newspaper CMW reports that AC Milan is interested in selling Charles De Ketelaere to Newcastle this summer for a cost of about £26 million.

This past summer, De Ketelaere, at 21 years old, moved from Brugge to Milan. This comes after he played 120 games for the Belgian champions and contributed to 45 goals. Nevertheless, the Belgian superstar has not yet replicated that success in Italy.

As a matter of fact, despite playing in 26 games for Milan, De Ketelaere has yet to score a goal. As a Milan player, he has contributed just one assist. Milan was quite proud of themselves for signing the attacker before Leeds United.

The article claims Milan is now trying to unload De Ketelaere. The high-flying Newcastle Magpies are reportedly interested in signing De Ketelaere. They are intrigued by Newcastle’s policy of recruiting promising young players and believe it might influence their decision to pursue De Ketelaere.

Milan is reportedly seeking to reclaim a sizeable portion of the £26 million transfer price it paid to Brugge to get De Ketelaere. Do you believe De Ketelaere deserves such a high price tag? Maybe so, but his Milan form says otherwise.

A long-term contract for De Ketelaere isn’t likely to interest Newcastle. A loan with an option to purchase will offer De Ketelaere a shot at making an impression in England’s north. He is under contract with Milan till June of 2027.

It’s probable that Newcastle will search for a player who can replace De Ketelaere. A player who can play in the offensive midfield position, with James Maddison being the primary objective. Claudio Ranieri, though, thinks that De Ketelaere has “elegant” potential.
