Cristiano Ronaldo invests in new football video game set to rival EA FC
Cristiano Ronaldo invests in new football game set to rival EA FC.
Cristiano Ronaldo has a history with FIFA, frequently being one of the game’s highest-rated players, and has also appeared on the cover of two versions of the game, FIFA 18 and 19. However, he was replaced in FIFA 19 by Neymar Jr., Paulo Dybala, and Kevin de Bruyne. Many assumed it was due to his sexual assault allegations, but EA stated it was to focus on greater talents.
FIFA was rebranded EA FC 24 four years later, with Erling Haaland on the cover page. Fans and journalists alike have panned the game for a variety of reasons, including its pay-to-win concept. Many others stated that their changes in career mode exacerbated the situation.
For years, several video game makers sought to produce a game that could compete with EAFC’s monopoly in the football game market. The largest competitor right now is Konami’s eFootball, which has gotten mixed reviews. Ronaldo, recognizing an opportunity, has opted to spend $40 million on Ultimate Football League, or UFL, a free-to-play football game created by Strikerz. Inc.
West Ham United, Monaco, Sporting CP, Besiktas, and Rangers are already linked with the game. They have also collaborated with FIFpro to get the licenses of approximately 65 thousand gamers. The game promises to be a free-to-play game with no pay-to-win components, similar to EAFC24. Kevin de Bruyne, Romelu Lukaku, Oleksandr Zinchenko, and Roberto Firmino have already signed on as ambassadors for the game.

When will the Ultimate Football League be released?
UFL has been under development since 2016, but it is set to be released in 2021. Striker. Inc. said that the game was created to assure player fairness and the sheer talent required to win games. UFL was also fully free for consoles such as the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and PC.
The trailer for the game was revealed in August 2021, with a release date of August 30th, 2022. The game was delayed to 2023 due to problems, however, there have been no official updates addressing the release dates. The game is now in closed beta testing, with gamers from all over the world participating.
Although no release dates have been set, it has been positioned as a potential competitor to EAFC and eFootball. Along with UFL, numerous developers, such as Man of the Match, are building their own free-to-play football games.
