Italian professional footballer – Marco Verratti has had his say on his move away from Europe recently. The player who had joined PSG back in 2012 put an end to his 11 year stay at the club at the end of the last season to join Qatari club – Al Arabi a couple months ago. The player made his opinion clear with regard to the reasons that made him undergo a move out of Europe. The player also let everyone know about his love for his former club that he’d played for.
Verrati expresses his fondness for PSG
Marco Verrati following his departure from PSG didn’t hold back his admiration for the club. The midfielder who has spent more than half of his career at Paris so far gave vent to his view on the club. He said,””I didn’t want to go to another team in Europe where I could face PSG. I wanted this to be my last team”.”I will live in Paris all my life. My family, my children, stayed here. When I have free days, I come back just to stay in Paris!”, he added.
Verrati’s sheer love for PSG and the environment at the club is pretty much evident from his words following his parting ways with the side. Another thing which Verrati pointed out was the change in the club’s plans with the arrival of their new coach – Luis Enrique. He has realised that he wasn’t really going to be a part of Enrique’s plans ever since his arrival at the club.
Verrati said,””I spoke to Luis Enrique and he told me that I was not part of his plans. He is a great coach, I respect that”.”He just told me that he wanted to change. That I had been at PSG for many years, that he wanted something new. For me, things never happen by chance.”
Verrati who had been with PSG through the thick and thin for over a decade played 416 matches for the club in all during which he scored 11 goals and provided 61 assists. He won the league nine times with PSG and also lifted 6 French cups and 6 French league cups.
