Newcastle on verge of signing Harvy Barnes from Leicester City
Premier League Club, Newcastle have made it clear that they are intending to sign Harvey Barnes on a permanent deal from Leicester City. The personal terms in the deal are supposedly not going to create much of a problem since the player is being seen as a key target by the club.
Leicester who initially were demanding a sum of £40m for the player have compromised to some extent with the passage of time. The final number that has been confirmed by Fabrizio Romano via his official announcement includes the figure of £38m.
Barnes joins Newcastle on a permanent deal for £38m
Barnes displayed fine performances in the most recent edition of the premier league while playing for Leicester City. The player smashed in 13 goals for his side but failed to prevent the team from getting relegated. Leicester finished 18th in the table with 34 points to their name, 2 points below 17th-placed Everton.
Newcastle were always looking for some player in order to strengthen the left flank even further thereby strengthening their chances of improving even further in the upcoming 2023/24 season of the Premier League. Barnes who is just 25 years old right now will have a new challenge ahead of him as he arrives at his new club.
The Englishman will have the opportunity to feature in the champions league as well thanks to Newcastle’s finishing within the top 4 in the 2022/23 Premier League Season. It remains to be seen as to whether the new signing manages to fit into his new team’s setup and add value to the team’s overall results.
Following this signing, there are some bad news for few of the other Premier League clubs as well. This is because clubs like Tottenham and Aston Villa too were seeking their chances to include Barnes into their team for the upcoming season. West Ham at one point of time looked to be the frontrunners in signing the winger. However the club failed to submit a proper bid due to changes in their recruiting team.
