Arsenal News: Arsenal Star to miss out the remainder of the season
Arsenal News: It has been claimed that Gabriel Martinelli, an Arsenal attacker, has sustained an injury that will force him to miss the remainder of the season.
According to David Ornstein of The Athletic, Martinelli tore ligaments in his ankle during May 14’s 3-0 loss to Brighton & Hove Albion. On Wednesday, May 17th, Ornstein updated his Twitter followers with the following: “Gabriel Martinelli will miss final 2 Arsenal games through injury. Suffered ankle ligament damage in Sunday’s loss to Brighton. 21yo Brazil winger ruled out for a number of weeks but should return for pre-season ahead of new campaign.”
Martinelli was given the nod in the starting lineup for the Premier League match against Brighton. But after just 20 minutes on the field, he needed assistance leaving. In that span, he had six touches, two successful passes, and a single dribble. Leandro Trossard, who came in as a substitute, committed the mistake that led to the second goal for his old side after the break.
According to Ornstein, Arsenal has only two more Premier League games remaining this season. The season for Mikel Arteta’s squad will end with home games against Wolverhampton Wanderers on May 28 and Nottingham Forest at the City Ground on May 20.

It seems like Arsenal‘s season will end in futility. After leading the Premier League for most of the season, Chelsea now finds themselves in second place, behind Manchester City, after a setback to Brighton & Hove Albion. If City beats Chelsea at the Etihad Stadium on May 21, they will win the championship for the sixth time in six seasons.
Arsenal News: Arsenal Star to miss out the remainder of the season
After being eliminated early from both the FA Cup and the UEFA Europa League, the Gunners have now redirected all of their efforts into winning the league. Gabriel Martinelli‘s improvement is one of the many bright spots this season.
This season, Martinelli has played in 46 total games for the north London giants, the most he has played in since joining the club. The Brazilian has scored 15 goals and sent out six assists in those matches.
He has played in 36 Premier League games this season, in which he has scored 15 goals and assisted on five others. He has also contributed to his team’s success by averaging 0.9 shots on goal, 1.6 critical passes, and 1.6 dribbles per game.
Next season, Arsenal will be contending for trophies once again, and they will be counting on Martinelli to continue his growth.
