Barcelona Transfer News: Barcelona is unlikely to pursue Roberto Firmino
Barcelona Transfer News: MARCA, a Spanish news organization, said that Barcelona is not interested in signing Roberto Firmino. The 31-year-old Liverpool veteran is not on the Catalan giants’ transfer want list for the next summer window. The newest development is that the adaptable attacker has made himself available to Barcelona.
Since joining Liverpool in July 2015 from Hoffenheim, Roberto Firmino has cemented his place in club mythology. This is the eighth year that the Brazilian international has served as Jurgen Klopp’s loyal forward. Even Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane were more effective with him on the field in the final third.
Despite some injury setbacks, the 31-year-old has had a productive 2022/23 season. And in his 33 games played, he’s contributed to an impressive 11 goals and five assists. Firmino, though, will leave Liverpool as a free agent this summer and join another team. According to reports, such an incident has triggered an alarm in Barcelona.

The 31-year-old Liverpool veteran reportedly received an offer from Barcelona recently. Given that Xavi Hernandez does not currently have a suitable replacement for Robert Lewandowski on his roster, the reported interest in the player is logical. With Barcelona’s goal-scoring woes, it makes sense for them to sign Firmino.
Barcelona Transfer News: After previously ruling out a bid for the 31-year-old Liverpool veteran Roberto Firmino, Barcelona is unlikely to pursue him this summer
Reports have surfaced suggesting Firmino does not want to play in the Premier League after leaving Liverpool. And relocating to Barcelona will only help him maintain his position at the top. However, MARCA’s report paints a different picture, stating that the Brazilian approached Barcelona with an offer to join.
When he eventually leaves Anfield, the 31-year-old Liverpool veteran seems eager to go on to Barcelona. However, the Spanish powerhouse club in Catalonia has rejected Firmino’s offer and will not be pursuing him this summer. Given their never-ending financial problems, this choice seems incomprehensible.
The Blaugrana can’t afford to add any more players until they’ve settled their financial situation. Therefore, it is not possible to afford a transfer fee for a prospective player. That’s why it would’ve made sense to try to sign Firmino. However, it seems that Barcelona has no interest in acquiring the Liverpool forward.
