Unai Emery and Aston Villa are interested in acquiring Caoimhin Kelleher from Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool during the next summer transfer window

According to The Transfer Room, Unai Emery and Aston Villa are interested in acquiring Caoimhin Kelleher from Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool during the next summer transfer window.

The 24-year-old is a goalkeeper for the Republic of Ireland national team, and the report claims that Villa is among the teams interested in signing him.

The Villans are considering Kelleher as a possible successor to Emiliano Martinez. It has been speculated that Martinez, who won the 2022 World Cup with Argentina in Qatar, may leave Villa during the next summer transfer window.

The former Arsenal goalie has been linked to a move to Tottenham Hotspur. As claimed by The Transfer Room, Villa will only seek Kelleher if Martinez is released.

According to the report, Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp has no intention of letting the goalie leave. The 24-year-old has, however, shown a desire to go, thus Liverpool will likely want a transfer fee of over £30 million.

Leaving Liverpool for Aston Villa is not necessarily a negative idea in our opinion for Caoimhin Kelleher. Think about Emiliano Martinez.

Before joining Villa, the Argentine was a backup goalkeeper for Arsenal. Martinez has won the Copa America and the World Cup as Argentina’s starting goalkeeper since joining the Villans.

Having seen Kelleher play for Liverpool, we are certain that he will thrive as the starting goalkeeper at Villa Park. The 24-year-old goalkeeper has been praised by Liverpool boss Jürgen Klopp, who called him “a top-class goalie” who is “calm” and “makes fantastic saves” on Liverpool’s YouTube channel last year.
