West Ham United are interested in a summer transfer of Yassine Bounou, along with Manchester City and Tottenham
AS, a Spanish news organization, claims that West Ham United are interested in a summer transfer of Yassine Bounou.
According to reports, Antonio Conte’s team offered more than £17 million to acquire the “outstanding” Moroccan No. 1. They reportedly still want to sign him before the start of the next season. Further, as revealed last month, Pep Guardiola’s squad was also interested in signing the World Cup wonder.
However, despite Tottenham’s and Man City’s stated interest in Yassine Bounou, it seems like West Ham has set their eyes on him as well.
With Spurs seeking a possible long-term replacement to the temporarily ailing Hugo Lloris and City might likely replace either Ederson or Stefan Orteta, judging by the rumours.
However, AS have stated that West Ham also remains ‘interested’ in moving Yassine Bounou from Sevilla to the London Stadium, despite Tottenham and Man City being queuing up to purchase him in the summer.
In addition, the Spanish side’s goalkeeper is viewed as their most ‘sellable’ asset, who has a ‘fluctuating’ release clause that could be worth £44 million.
It would be surprising if the much sought-after goalkeeper chose East London as his next destination rather than the blue side of Manchester or the white part of North London, where David Moyes’ team are now fighting relegation.
Not only is it exceedingly doubtful that Manchester City would hire a new goalkeeper less than a year after acquiring the services of Stefan Ortega, but it also seems quite implausible that Yassine Bounou would opt to join West Ham instead of Tottenham.
Now, only time will tell exactly how much the Hammers dream of seeing him wear claret and blue.
