Leeds United are realistic about their chances of hiring Mauricio Pochettino
In an interview with CaughtOffSide, Fabrizio Romano said that Leeds United are realistic about their chances of hiring Mauricio Pochettino.
The Italian reporter claims to be unaware of any communication between Leeds and Pochettino. According to Romano, the Premier League team is aware that the ex-Tottenham Hotspur and PSG manager is not interested in taking over at Elland Road at this time.
As a result of Jesse Marsch’s dismissal, Leeds is looking for a new manager. The West Yorkshire team has serious relegation concerns at the conclusion of the current Premier League season.
The conclusion of the 2021–22 season saw Pochettino’s resignation from his position as PSG manager, leaving him now unemployed.
However, despite the Argentine’s leadership, PSG lost in the UEFA Champions League final against Real Madrid. In the Premier League, Pochettino coached for both Southampton and Tottenham.
Tottenham Hotspur advanced to the 2019 UEFA Champions League Final under the leadership of former Espanyol manager Mauricio Pochettino. This week, Claudio Mauri of Diario La Nación tweeted that Leeds had made an offer to Pochettino.
The manager, formerly of Southampton and Espanyol, allegedly declined.
Romano said: “Despite some speculation, I’m not aware of Mauricio Pochettino being in contact with Leeds. They know he’s waiting for different kind of club with different ambitions.”
