If they can’t get AS Roma star Chris Smalling in the summer transfer window, Inter Milan is allegedly interested in Fulham defender and Newcastle United target Tosin Adarabioyo.
The England international is seen as Inter’s top option to replace Milan Skriniar at the conclusion of this season, but TuttoMercatoWeb reports that the Nerazzurri are keeping eyes on the former Manchester City academy player as an alternative for Smalling.
Adarabioyo, 25, is a regular for Marco Silva this season in Fulham’s fantastic campaign. The Mirror has reported that in addition to Inter, Newcastle is interested in acquiring the defender.
Adarabioyo’s contract with Fulham expires in 2024, so the club may want to cash in on the defender at the peak of his value for the west London club. Inter may be interested in signing the former England youth international as a replacement for Smalling.
Adarabioyo is eight years younger than the former Manchester United great and has the ability to succeed in Serie A, much like Chris Smalling and Fikayo Tomori, two other England stars. The Fulham centre defender will no doubt be intrigued by the opportunity to join a team of Inter’s stature.
Although there has been reported interest in Adarabioyo from Newcastle, Eddie Howe’s defensive record this season has proved that the Magpies coach has everything under control, with the St. James Park backline as close flawless as the English coach can get it.
Pep Guardiola called Fulham’s defender Adarabioyo “amazing” after he put in an outstanding performance against Manchester City. Still, the defender’s 25 years of age should make him excited about the prospect of signing with Inter.
Since joining Inter may be Adarabioyo’s last chance to play in the UEFA Champions League, and since the San Siro club has been keeping eye on the defender as a possible replacement for Chris Smalling, the Fulahm star must seize the opportunity to go to Milan.
