Nicolo Zaniolo, an offensive midfielder for AS Roma, apparently prefers a transfer to Jesse Marsch’s Leeds United
Nicolo Zaniolo, an offensive midfielder for AS Roma, apparently prefers a transfer to Jesse Marsch’s Leeds United, although TMW reports that Everton has made a late offer.
Even though the January transfer deadline has passed, Italian news site TMW reports that Everton has re-established contact with Roma in hopes of acquiring playmaker Zaniolo.
The 23-year-old Italy international is being courted by the Merseyside club. In August 2022, head coach Jose Mourinho praised the player on Roma’s YouTube page, calling him “amazing.”
Calciomercato claimed earlier today that RB Leipzig, Everton, Southampton, Leeds, and AC Milan all submitted offers to Roma for the 23-year-old, who has also played forward in certain games this season.
Each participating club proposed a loan agreement that included a buyout option that, under certain conditions, would turn into an obligation.
According to the report, Zaniolo has shown interest in joining the West Yorkshire team Leeds provided a transfer can be negotiated with his current club, Roma.
However, TMW now claims that Everton is back in for Zaniolo and attempting to close a deal. At this time, there are no reputable sources suggesting Leeds will make a fresh bid for the Italian.
The possibility of Zaniolo signing with Everton as soon as tonight cannot be ruled out. What happens next, only time can tell.
