Max Kilman, a defender for Wolves, is allegedly a summer transfer target for Tottenham Hotspur

According to Ben Jacobs, Tottenham Hotspur may make a bid for Wolves defender Max Kilman in the next offseason. It’s likely that the North London club will make some changes during this transfer window.

Spurs’ stellar early-season performance has tapered down in recent months as Antonio Conte’s team has battled to maintain its form. Though they enjoyed a tremendous summer, their performance has not reflected it.

With 25 goals allowed thus far, they have the worst defence among the Premier League’s top five clubs. No other defenders, other than Eric Dier and Cristian Romero, seem to be of the calibre necessary to challenge at that level.

Clement Lenglet’s tenure will end after this season, and Ben Davies is more at home on the left side of the defense. Kilman might be the first name on the transfer list if the team decides to bring in a natural defender.

The 25-year-old is ready to take the next step in his career after not missing a single game in the Premier League. Losing Kilman would be devastating for the Wolves, who are currently mired in the relegation fight.

Even yet, Ben Jacobs stated that Kilman was on the table as a potential summer replacement. 

He said: “Another player at Wolves whose name merits your attention, although in the summer rather than right now, is Max Kilman. Kilman has long been on Tottenham’s radar, and the transfer window is now open for him to join the club.

Idle effort and focus are wasted when there is no chance of making a sale. With a new manager in place and the Wolves’ poor form, Kilman will undoubtedly be considering his future options. I wouldn’t be surprised if, regardless of how well he performs for Lopetegui, Kilman chooses to leave Wolves this summer.

I believe that is what the Spurs are watching for. He’s been on their radar for a long because they think he’s cool under pressure, he has Premier League experience, and he could be had for a reasonable price.”

There might be a bidding battle for the defender next summer if the Wolves maintain their Premier League status.
