Man United are reportedly eager to sign Southampton right-back Kyle Walker-Peters, according to talkSPORT. The English right-back’s improvement is being monitored by Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur, among others.
The 25-year-old has been one of Southampton’s few bright spots in an otherwise disappointing season. They have an uphill struggle to avoid relegation, and losing their Premier League standing would make it impossible for them to hang on to their valuable possessions.
Walker-Peters is prepared to uproot from the South Coast to further his career. Over the last few years, the 25-year-old has been one of St. Mary’s most reliable players. And a new contract with the Saints is already planned. The English right-back does not want to extend his current deal, which is set to expire in 2025.
Since Aaron Wan-Bissaka hasn’t improved over the years, Manchester United has been looking for a new right-back to replace him. However, he has just regained his groove. He played for England’s under-21 team. The image will become more distinct in the following days, as January will be a hectic month for the Red Devils due to their packed schedule.
Walker-Peters is a homegrown product of Tottenham’s youth system. His inability to make an impact at the north London club led to a permanent transfer to Southampton.
