Tottenham transfer News; Emerson Royal will be available for purchase from Tottenham Hotspur during the next summer transfer window
Tottenham Transfer News: Reporter Peter O’Rourke of GiveMeSport claims that Premier League powerhouse Tottenham Hotspur are planning to trade away Emerson Royal this summer.
The Brazilian fullback has struggled to make an impact since joining them from Barcelona in 2021. Emerson has accumulated 73 total appearances with the Spurs in all competitions, including three goals and two assists.
We can safely conclude that he has fallen short of our hopes and is more of a flop than a success. He is a poor defender but a strong attacker. However, his lacklustre goal-scoring production as a wing-back suggests that this position is not a good fit for him.
For comparison’s sake, let’s look at the opposite wing, where Spurs’ Ivan Perisic, who signed during the summer, has now made 12 assists in as many goals. Emerson’s time in north London is limited now that Pedro Porro has joined the team.
The player’s father has previously expressed the hope that his son might one day play for Real Madrid. The 24-year-old’s ambition is commendable, but his play for Spurs has not been good enough to earn a transfer to Real Madrid. Without a doubt, expectations are greater.

This summer will be crucial for Tottenham because they would be fine without Emerson. The likelihood of Real Madrid making a move for the 24-year-old is slim, but other clubs should be ready to take a risk on him.
Emerson’s excellent performances have been more the exception than the rule throughout his time at Tottenham. Regardless of who takes over as manager, not much is expected to change. Getting as much money back for the defensive back will aid Daniel Levy’s transfer budget.
The Brazilian is Porro’s backup at right back, where he presently ranks below the starter. Given the impending winds of change in Tottenham, now is as good a time as any for the residents of North London to sell off yet another dud. In January, Tottenham asked for €25 million (about $32 million) for Emerson. It’s questionable if they will finally understand.
