Tottenham has identified the replacement of Hugo Lloris
Football Insider reports that Tottenham Hotspur is interested in signing Robert Sanchez. The 25-year-old goalkeeper is one of several candidates to succeed Hugo Lloris for the Spurs. And in the summer, the Premier League team will reportedly make an aggressive attempt to sign him.
In the summer of 2013, Sanchez enrolled in the Brighton youth program. Since then, he has been an integral part of the Seagulls. The multiple loan stints he had to endure paid off when the Spanish international became the Premier League club’s undisputed number one.
Throughout the last several seasons, the 25-year-old’s performance has steadily improved. He’s played in 88 games for the first team and has 28 saves. Throughout the years, Sanchez has become an indispensable member of the Seagulls’ team. But as of late, he has been falling out of favour at Brighton, and things have not been the same.
It has been reported that Hugo Lloris would be replaced by Robert Sanchez of Brighton & Hove Albion for Tottenham Hotspur
His contract with Brighton runs through the summer of 2025, but the Spanish international may be leaving in the coming window. The 25-year-old has kept seven clean sheets in 23 games this season, but he is not anticipated to be retained for the next campaign.
Tottenham meanwhile, is interested in Brighton’s goalkeeper. The London club is looking for a young goalkeeper to replace Hugo Lloris, who may leave at the end of the season. The club is looking to make a long-term investment in goalkeeping and wants to bring in someone who can assume the role of starter right away.
In the Premier League, Robert Sanchez has been outstanding in recent years. In 86 Premier League games, he has 27 clean sheets. With the arrival of the 25-year-old goalkeeper, Tottenham should have fewer problems. The next manager of Spurs has not been decided.
Yet, preparations have already begun to strengthen the team for the next season. Lloris is 36 years old and has been steadily declining over the last several years. So, it is prudent to seek a permanent replacement. Sanchez is one of many free-agent targets for the Spurs this summer, along with David Raya, Mike Maignan, and Dean Henderson.
