Representatives for Neymar have reportedly courted both Liverpool and Newcastle United with an offer to sign the PSG star

Representatives for Neymar have reportedly courted both Liverpool and Newcastle United with an offer to sign the PSG star. The Brazil striker wants to play in the Premier League.

Reports from 90min indicate that PSG might be willing to trade Neymar after the season. The Parc des Princes has a deal with the 31-year-old forward until June 2025. His recent form has caused some to contemplate firing them.

After 28 games, Neymar has 17 goals and 16 assists, having had a fantastic season. PSG is taking its time settling for the winger’s exit. Yet, his representatives have begun contacting Premier League clubs about potential opportunities.

Neymar’s representatives have notified Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United, and Newcastle that the 124-cap Brazil star is considering a move to the Premier League. They also informed each team that PSG may be open to selling him this summer.

Todd Boehly, co-owner of Chelsea, has spoken with Nasser Al-Khelaifi, president of Paris Saint-Germain, about Neymar. Hakim Ziyech’s unsuccessful move to the French side was discussed during their meeting in January. Boehly was receptive to a transfer, and discussions quickly turned to Neymar.

In spite of Neymar’s agent promoting the winger to Liverpool, Newcastle, etc., PSG is willing to discuss a move despite the likelihood of another disappointing Champions League run. In the first leg of their Round of 16 matchups, Les Parisiens were defeated by Bayern Munich by a score of 1-0.

Before breaking records in the World Cup, Neymar scored twice and sent out three assists in the group stage. With his 77th international goal, the forward—who PSG paid £200 million to acquire from Barcelona in 2017—tied Pele for Brazil’s all-time record.

Danny Murphy, another striker, said that Neymar is the finest of his generation after seeing him play in Qatar. Yet, the 2014–15 champion with Barcelona’s reputation is clouded by the fact that he did not win the Champions League while at PSG, despite his many domestic victories.

“It depends how you interpret greats,” Murphy told talkSPORT. “I mean, yes, he’s a special talent, really special. Has he fulfilled his potential? At Barcelona, for a while, he was because he was winning everything and he was contributing to that. He’s a super talent, somebody I really enjoy watching… In my lifetime, he’s been one of the greats. He could be for two or three games on a level and just look unplayable. Then for two or three games, he drops. He disappears for a bit [and] he doesn’t quite fancy it,” he added.
