Newcastle United Transfer News: Eddie Howe wants ‘These Two Positions’ to be reinforced next season
Newcastle United Transfer News: Newcastle United is now playing like a team with realistic hopes of finishing in the Premier League’s top four and qualifying for the prestigious Champions League.
There are still 10 games remaining in the current season, so it’s important for Eddie Howe to see what kind of players are out there that might help the Magpies reach the next level if they make it to the top European tournament next year.
Howe has gotten the most out of his team in 2022/23, but they will need a deeper roster if they want to win the English Premier League and the Champions League in the same season.
Newcastle United Transfer News: Eddie Howe wants a certain type of players
Craig Hope, a trusted Daily Mail reporter who follows events at St. James’ Park, recently made comments on his video blog that indicated the Magpies are interested in acquiring two sorts of players to help them advance.
“What I know is they’re interested in another right-sided centre-back. Someone who can perhaps play second fiddle, but you know, a younger type to Fabian Schar,” he said.
He added: “Maybe in the mold of a Sven Botman who they brought in, that type of profile 21/22, maybe from the continent someone who can come in and fill that role on the right-hand side probably initially as understudy to Schar. A specialist left-back as well.”
