Marc Roca discussed Arsenal’s chances of winning the English Premier League

The £10 million Leeds man, Marc Roca, was recently interviewed by Mundo Deportivo, and among other things, he discussed Arsenal.

The Spanish media source questioned the 26-year-old whether he believes the Gunners can win the Premier League this season, and he responded by giving a long explanation in which he praised four Arsenal players.

Now, Roca has heaped praise on the north Londoners, but he has also urged them not to become too comfortable with their Premier League chances.

The Spaniard told Mundo Deportivo: “It’s very early. They are playing very well, and having an incredible season, but this is the Premier League and you can’t take anything for granted. I think City have huge potential too. I would not say that anything is done.

At Arsenal Saka and Martinelli, for me, are at a very high level. Gabriel Jesus was also very good, Odegaard. They are at a very high level. On our field we missed a penalty, we had very clear chances, we deserved much more and I think we put them in serious trouble.”

Roca is correct: despite Arsenal’s amazing performance this season, there is still a long way to go before anybody can claim they have won the Premier League. In a title fight against Manchester City, there is no room for mistake, as any Liverpool supporter would tell you.

Despite finishing with 97 and 92 points in the 2018/19 and 2021/22 seasons, respectively, the Reds nonetheless managed to finish behind the Citizens both times.

Therefore, Arsenal cannot afford to get complacent despite their five-point lead over Manchester City in the Premier League; if they do, Pep Guardiola will exploit the situation.

While Arsenal is concerned about Manchester City, Leeds must keep moving forward. Jesse Marsch’s squad is now 15th in the league, one spot and one point above the relegation zone, but one spot and one point below Bournemouth in 18th.

Although they have made several key additions—including Georginio Rutter, Max Wober, and Weston McKennie—Leeds must not get comfortable and assume that their new players will be enough to guarantee them safety.

Leeds, in the opposite half of the Premier League as Arsenal, must likewise keep their foot on the gas.
