Manchester United are said to be contemplating a summer fire sale to gather finances for a potential bid to capture Tottenham’s sensation Harry Kane.

Manchester Evening News reports that Erik Ten Hag wants to get rid of Anthony Martial, Harry Maguire, and Alex Telles so that United can afford to buy Harry Kane, who seems to be the club’s primary striker target for the summer.

United have one of the biggest rosters in the Premier League, which the Dutch manager is eager to trim by selling off the club’s deadwood in order to make room for high-quality additions like Kane, who would be a great fit at United.

With his contract set to end in 2024, this summer might be as good a moment as any for a major team to eventually grab the 29-year-old attacker, who just became Tottenham’s all-time best goalscorer.

Indeed, with United making some excellent development under Ten Hag and Antonio Conte certain to depart Spurs after this season, a move for Kane to the Manchester giants isn’t that farfetched, with the England international being an ideal match for the Old Trafford team for next season.

And with United currently taking steps to unload players who are now surplus to requirements, there is a fair potential that the Manchester club might recuperate the cash required to bring Kane to the Premier League giants in the summer, with the player himself likely open to a transfer.

Even though Kane’s individual records and accomplishments are unlikely to be repeated in English football for some time, the striker has nothing to cling to in terms of trophy or team honours, making a transfer to United this summer an obvious choice.

The striker is at the peak of his abilities and, by joining a club like United, where winning silverware and trophies is the norm, Kane can finally begin to add to the personal accolades he has already amassed while playing for Tottenham.
