Kalvin Phillips Transfer News: Aston Villa is reportedly interested in signing him

Kalvin Phillips Transfer News: Phillips joined City from Leeds United in July after making a strong impression in Yorkshire, but the transfer has not been successful so far. He has appeared in only 14 games in all competitions, including 65 minutes in the league.

It’s unfortunate for the 27-year-old, but Villa is said to be interested in signing him this summer, so he could get a second chance.

Kalvin Phillips Transfer News: Aston Villa is reportedly interested in signing England midfielder Kalvin Phillips, who has fallen out of favour at Manchester City

According to Football Insider, City wants £45 million for Phillips, the same amount it cost to sign him. However, the Citizens are unlikely to get anywhere near their asking price, which would be a record transfer fee for Villa, surpassing the reported £33 million that they paid for Emi Buendia in 2021. Phillips has made little impact under Pep Guardiola since arriving in the summer.

With Villa now in 6th place and on track for a top-half finish, a transfer to the Midlands may not be the worst option for Phillips as he tries to resurrect his career.
