Igli Tare, the director of sports at Lazio, is on Tottenham Hotspur’s shortlist to succeed Fabio Paratici
CMW reports that Igli Tare, the director of sports at Lazio, is on Tottenham Hotspur’s shortlist to succeed Fabio Paratici. The Italian media site claims that Spurs are investigating possible successors for Paratici, who is now the subject of controversy.
According to The Mirror, Paratici was banned from Italian football for 30 months for his suspected role in financial irregularities and fraudulent accounting at Juventus.
The Italian, at 50 years old, is now serving as Tottenham’s Managing Director of Football. Even though Paratici’s “two-and-a-half year suspension applies solely to Italian football,” the Mirror claims that “a national association may ask to extend a ban outside of its own country” following Fifa’s standards.
According to the source, Juventus has started the appeals procedure against the court’s judgment, but if they are unsuccessful, Paratici may be banned from all competitions globally.
The Mirror reports that if Fabio Paratici receives a global suspension, Tottenham would make a bid for Benfica scout Rui Pedro Braz, while CMW claims the Premier League team is interested in Tare, a 49-year-old former Albanian international attacker who has failed to extend his current deal with Lazio. Currently, Tottenham is fifth in the Premier League with 39 points after 23 games, while Lazio is sixth in Serie A with 39 points after 22 matches.
