Gary Linekar reacts after Harry Kane scored the record tying goal for Tottenham

After Harry Kane scored the record-tying goal for Tottenham Hotspur in their Premier League encounter against Manchester City on Sunday night at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Gary Lineker took to Twitter to share his thoughts.

Lineker, a former Tottenham striker and commentator of BBC’s Match of the Day, thinks it’s amazing that Kane has become the club’s all-time top goalscorer.

Former Tottenham chairman Lord Sugar has also spoken favourably on the accomplishment of the England national team striker. In the 15th minute of their match against Premier League winners City, Tottenham scored on a goal by Kane.

The English striker scored his 267th goal for Tottenham, according to BBC Sport. Kane scored his 200th goal for the Premier League with that one. The forward has now scored more goals for Tottenham than Jimmy Greaves.

Former Chelsea player Greaves played with Tottenham for the first part of his career and then went on to score 266 goals in 379 appearances for Spurs between 1961 and 1970. For Tottenham, Kane has suited up 415 times.

As a striker for the English national team, Greaves is often considered the finest of all time. Currently, Kane is the finest English striker.

It would not be surprising if Kane ultimately became the Premier League’s all-time leading scorer, passing the great Alan Shearer of Newcastle United.
