Former Premier League midfielder George Boeteng thinks Mohamed Kudus has a great future in England
The ‘outstanding’ Ajax attacker Mohamed Kudus is apparently being pursued by Premier League clubs Newcastle United, Arsenal, and Tottenham Hotspur, and former Premier League midfielder George Boeteng thinks he has a great future in England.
Kudus is technically adept, versatile, a wonderful ball handler, and a fantastic goal scorer from both inside and outside the box. Well, nearly.
Former Nordsjaelland wunderkind and current member of the Ghana national team, Boateng says there is one clear area in which he can develop. Kudus has a career-high 15 goals and just three assists this season.
The 2022 World Cup saw some outstanding displays from Kudus, who is valued at £40 million by 90Min, and the London clubs Arsenal, Tottenham, and Newcastle have reportedly made contacts with him. When club football resumed after the midseason break, the 22-year-old from Accra has elevated his game to a new level thanks to the hiring of John Heitinga as temporary coach at Ajax.
The transfer to Everton for £15 million was very close to happening in August, as Kudus acknowledges. A former Goodison Park regular, Heitinga, has called Kudus “outstanding,” but it seems that other, wealthier, higher-flying teams have now passed the Toffees in their pursuit of the player.
“In his technique, dribbling and power, Mo is not lacking at all,” says Boateng, the one-time Middlesbrough captain. “If he lets team-mates score more often with a cross or through ball, Mo can really become a world-class player in the next 18 to 24 months,” he added.
