Cristiano Ronaldo's reaction to "Messi" chants from supporters has gone viral.
As Al-Hilal faced Al-Nassr, Cristiano Ronaldo was reminded of his archrival Lionel Messi by the entire crowd. On Friday, the Saudi ‘giants’ squared off, with Al-Hilal fans attempting to ‘intimidate’ and ‘anger’ the Portuguese sensation. The home crowd sang ‘Messi’ chants throughout the game, especially as Ronaldo was walking into the tunnel. However, it was CR7’s ‘blown kisses’ in response to this that went viral.
On Friday, Al-Nassr suffered a severe setback in their drive to the top of the Saudi Pro League. With a 3-0 loss against the Blue Waves, the first (Al-Hilal) and second (Al-Nassr) are separated by a 7-point margin.
Even though the visitors were defeated 3-0 at the King Fahd International Stadium, images of Ronaldo with the home supporters have gone viral. Ronaldo answered in style, looking up at the shouting fans with a big smile. He then proceeded to ‘ shower’ the opposing fans with ‘flying kisses’ from all angles.
His reaction soon went viral, with many praising Ronaldo’s excellent handling of the matter. Throughout the 90-minute match, fans screamed Lionel Messi‘s name.
Al-Nassr suffers first defeat in 10 games
The Knights of Najd were defeated by Al-Hilal, who were playing without star player Neymar Jr. A brace from Aleksandar Mitrovic and a goal from Sergej Milinkovic-Savic were enough for the home team to win over Cristiano Ronaldo’s team. The Al-Nassr #7 had a quiet game, managing only three shots during the game, two of which were on target.
As Al-Hilal got to work, the visitors were visibly pushed back into their half. Al-Nassr were let off the hook on many occasions in the first ten minutes, with Mitrovic and Salem Al-Dawsari shooting wide. The visitors caused themselves problems when Mitrovic snatched the ball from an Al-Nassr defender before Al-Dawsari’s effort thankfully went into the palms of Nawaf Al-Aqidi.
