Carlo Ancelotti commented on Sean Dyche’s tactics when he was in charge of Burnley in March 2021
After firing Frank Lampard as manager of Everton this month, Carlo Ancelotti commented on Sean Dyche’s tactics when he was in charge of Burnley in March 2021, making Dyche one of the leading candidates to replace Lampard.
Having been fired from Burnley in April of 2022, Dyche, at the age of 51, is now unemployed. The Clarets were subsequently relegated, and Dyche is yet to find a new managerial position. He’s been out of football for over a year, but Everton still wants him.
According to The Sun, Dyche would welcome the opportunity to become Everton’s manager. After a disappointing 2-0 defeat to West Ham over the weekend, Lampard was let go earlier this week. The Toffees are now in a terrible 19th place in the League.
Former Everton manager Carlo Ancelotti has high praise for current boss Sean Dyche and his playing style. He said that the 4-4-2 configuration was something he had grown up with. As a bonus, Ancelotti also gushes over Dyche’s character, praising his playing style.
He said: “I like their style of play. Because they play clear 4-4-2. I was born 4-4-2 with [Arrigo] Sacchi as player and assistant. [Dyche] is a good guy. We have spent some time before games. I respect the style of play of Burnley. I like it a lot”.
What do Everton supporters think of Dyche? The social media response seems to be divided. Dyche would get the Toffees’ defence in order and save Everton from disaster. Rather than concentrating on defence, he would make them difficult to defeat.
To improve his defence, he’d get back together with James Tarkowski. Out wide, Dyche would also have Dwight McNeil, a player he can coax to perform at his best with the right direction and guidance. Since joining Everton from Burnley, McNeil has failed to make an impact.
