Borussia Dortmund is closing in on a £10 million transfer for Anderlecht wonderkid Julien Duranville

According to L’Equipe, Borussia Dortmund is closing in on a £10 million transfer for Anderlecht wonderkid Julien Duranville, meaning Premier League strugglers Southampton will lose out on him.

During last weekend’s exciting 4-3 triumph against Augsburg, Dortmund’s 18-year-old Jamie Bynoe-Gittens slipped inside and curled a stunning finish into the far corner. While Die Schwarzgelben has lost some of their brightest stars—Jadon Sancho, Erling Haaland, and Jude Bellingham—they have not stopped receiving talented young players.

Originally from London, Bynoe-Gittens relocated to Germany with Sancho in the year 2020. His 19th birthday is coming up, and he seems poised to be the next big thing in Dortmund’s yellow and black.

So, it seems like teen phenom Julien Duranville is onto something here, with the Belgium U16 international destined to become Dortmund’s newest fresh-faced superstar-in-waiting.

Recently, Duranville has been linked to Lyon, Rennes, and fellow gold-panners Southampton on FootMercato. However, the newest bright star to emerge from Anderlecht’s prestigious school will be heading to Germany. On Thursday, Duranville will have a physical and then sign with Dortmund for a reported £10 million.

“When you see Duranville… I’ve never seen (a player like this) before,” former Anderlecht coach Samba Diawara tells La Dernière Heure

“It is not difficult to deal with such a talent, because he has been so well coached. I was amazed by the intelligence of the young players at Anderlecht. They train players but also make men of them. Julien speaks perfect French, English and Dutch. He is extremely respectful, attentive and humble. With the qualities he has, I think Julien is the future of Belgium,” adds team-mate Adrien Trebel (RTL Sport).

“You can’t forget that he is still only 16 years old. At the moment, he still has a lot of progress to make, especially on a physical level. His body may not be ready to play 90 minutes every weekend. But Julien listens well, and he works hard to strengthen his body as much as possible,” he added.
