Manchester United Transfer News: Manchester United is ready to compete with Liverpool for the services of Bayern Munich midfielder

According to reports, Manchester United is ready to compete with Liverpool for the services of Bayern Munich midfielder Ryan Gravenberch. Bayern may sell the Dutch international to another club just a year after acquiring him from Ajax.

Manchester United have reportedly joined the bidding for Gravenberch because manager Erik ten Hag sees him as the solution to the club’s midfield woes, as reported by Football Insider. Liverpool is also interested in him, so it won’t be easy to sign him.

After a dismal season, the Reds are looking to restock their midfield and have made Gravenberch one of their primary targets. Jude Bellingham, a young English player for Borussia Dortmund, was said to have rejected them in favor of Real Madrid.

Along with Alexis Mac Allister, a midfielder for Brighton & Hove Albion, Gravenberch is currently one of Jurgen Klopp’s top transfer targets. An additional £43m (€50m) has been offered by Liverpool for the former Ajax star.

In contrast, Manchester United is working to strengthen its roster across the board. Gravenberch has suddenly become a hot summer commodity in the middle of the pitch. The 20-year-old was a player for Ten Hag at Ajax.

Marcel Sabitzer is presently on loan at United from Bayern Munich; however, it is unclear whether or when this will become a permanent transfer. Since the Austrian has a history of injuries, it may be easier for the Red Devils to make a call.

Despite the fact that Casemiro and Christian Eriksen will likely play major roles in the first squad next season, Ten Hag is keen to add another option to the midfield after seeing how much the club struggled without the Denmark international.

Gravenberch joined Bayern from Ajax in the summer for €18.50 million. Since then, he has played in 31 games across all competitions for them, contributing one goal and one assist.
